Yes, we are doing birds in February because it is horrible and cold
and we need to think about spring! This was a home run. I get a range of
kids from toddler to early grade school (I have a lot of homeschoolers), and these stories kept
everyone's attention. The kids especially enjoyed Duck on a Bike and
Chicken Big, which they thought were hilarious! I found the flannelboard
rhyme all over the internet so I'm not sure who I should credit it to,
but if I can figure it out I'll add that later.
Birds:
Flannelboard Rhyme:
1 little bird with feathers of blue, flew beside the green one and then there
were 2
2 little birds singing in the tree, the red one came to join them and then
there were 3
3 little birds wishing there were more, along came the purple bird and then
there were 4
4 little birds happy to be alive, found a yellow one and then there were 5
5 little birds happy as can be, singing beautiful songs just for you and me!
